Sanjay Gandhi, M.D.
As a urogynecologist who has been in practice for over 15 years, Dr. Sanjay Gandhi has cared for over 10,000 women in restoring the quality of their lives.
He and his team consider every woman to be unique and provide integrative urogynecology services through customized treatment plans.
Dr. Gandhi is board certified in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS). He is among a few nationally selected to have achieved this designation by The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Gandhi completed a three-year Urogynecology fellowship after his Gynecology and Obstetrics residency at Prentice Women’s Hospital at Northwestern University. During his fellowship, Dr. Gandhi presented research at international conferences and today, he continues to teach residents. He takes pride in empowering his team members to take ownership of delivering the highest quality care with kindness.
Dr. Gandhi and his team provide the latest surgical and non-surgical treatments for pelvic floor disorders and for “vaginal rejuvenation.”
To promote Urogynecology in India, Dr. Gandhi founded the Pelvic Health Institute in 2012 one of only a handful of Urogynecology centers in India. He cofounded the Urogynecology & Pelvic Health Institute (UPHI) in 2014 with Dr. Aparna Hegde which at the time became a sub-specialized center for pelvic floor disorders and Urogynecology in India. UPHI now provides specialized surgical care across a spectrum of medical specialties (https://www.uphi.in).
In 2015, Dr. Gandhi was among the first doctors in the US to launch the MonaLisa Touch treatment for vaginal atrophy. Recently he has added new body sculpting technologies (truSculpt and EMSCULPT) to provide women the best treatments for non-surgical body rejuvenation.
Dr. Gandhi recently partnered with his wife, Board Certified dermatologist, Dr. Kavitha Gandhi (https://www.lakeshorederm.com), to open The Sculped Body (https://www.sculpedbody.com/home) to bring these treatments to their patients.
Dr. Gandhi continues to enjoy downhill skiing and classical piano and recently started learning how to play squash. He takes an active role in his children’s lives and enjoys time with them traveling or just “hanging out.”
Samata Shroff, MS, PA-C.
Samata Shroff is a board-certified Physician Assistant though National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants with over 14 years of experience.
Prior to joining the North Shore Urogynecology, Samata worked in Gynecology Oncology at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion and in a private Internal Medicine/Geriatrics practice in Gurnee.
During her years in practice, she has been providing management of acute and chronic conditions, educating on preventative medicine, caring for inpatients, ordering and interpreting lab tests, helping with care management, and prescribing medications to treat symptoms and side effects. She has been part of many research clinical trials.
Samata earned a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. Before pursuing graduate studies, she completed bachelor’s degrees in Biochemistry with College Honors and High Distinction in Biochemistry from University of Illinois at Chicago. During her undergraduate years, she also worked as a Pharmacy Technician.
Samata values the time she shares with patients, not only discussing their treatment, but making sure they are actively participating in their care. She believes in taking time to listen to their questions and concerns. Understanding what a patient is experiencing is an integral part to the quality care she provides.
Samata is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Illinois Academy of Physician Assistant and American Urogynecology Society. She is also certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children. She enjoys travelling, sewing, cooking, baking and making crafts with her kids.
